How we look after your information
What we collect, why we need it, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Concept site. Lanternway is a fictional firm. This page shows how a small firm's privacy notice is usually laid out. It isn't a real notice, and nothing you type on this site is sent anywhere.
Who we are
Lanternway Legal Ltd Fictional is the controller of your personal information. Our data protection lead is Nadia Brennan-Osei, principal solicitor. Contact her at hello@lanternway.example or 2nd Floor, 7 Fennick Yard, Leeds LS1 0XX.
What we collect
- When you enquire: your name, email, phone, what it's about, when your permission ends, your preferred language and how you'd like to meet, and anything you write to us.
- When we act for you: identity documents, your immigration history, and the evidence your application needs.
- Only where your case needs it: more sensitive information, such as health or criminal records.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and book a route review.
- To act for you under our client care letter.
- To meet our legal and regulatory duties, such as identity checks.
We tell you the lawful basis for each of these in your client care letter.
Who we share it with
Only who your case needs: the Home Office, courts and tribunals, barristers, interpreters and translators, and the IT providers who host our systems. We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't go further: 12 months. Client files: 6 years after your matter closes. Illustrative
